Registered Nurse Job Details

Location : Morganton, NC 28655 – North Carolina healthcare jobs

Setting : Family Center – Labor & Delivery Unit

Contract Length : 13-week RN contract

Start Date : November 10, 2025

End Date : February 9, 2026

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts / week

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1800-$1840

Unit Features : 16 LDRP rooms, on-unit C-section suite and PACU, 4-bed Special Care Nursery

Support Staff : Preadmit nurse, discharge planner / case worker, maternity navigator, unit educator, lactation consultant

Additional Requirement : Candidates may be required to float within the hospital as needed.

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active North Carolina RN license or compact state nursing license

BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery and Mother / Baby nursing experience

Experience in specialized L&D unit preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a family-centered healthcare setting

Assist with deliveries, including C-sections, and provide care in LDRP rooms

Monitor mothers and infants, promptly recognizing and responding to complications

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure best practices and patient safety

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based nursing care projects

Educate and support patients and families throughout the childbirth experience

Document patient care accurately using the facility’s charting system
