The Role
As part of Lumen's Finance Modernization and Simplification (M&S) initiative, the Senior Manager of Finance Transition & AI Enablement will lead the end-to-end transition of key finance functions from the U.S. to our shared services hub in India. This highly visible role will work closely with Finance leadership, Global Process Owners (GPOs), and the AI Finance Pod to document processes, enable automation, and ensure a seamless transition. The Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in embedding digital and AI capabilities into future-state processes. The ideal candidate will lead with a growth mindset, embracing ambiguity and championing innovation through AI, automation, and emerging technologies, while inspiring teams to adapt and thrive in a rapidly evolving digital finance landscape.
Location
This is a remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S., with a preference for those based in the Denver, CO metro area. International travel will be required for this position (20-30% expected).
The Main Responsibilities
1. Transition & Operational Leadership
- Lead planning and execution of finance function transitions (R2R, P2P, Q2C, FP&A support) from the U.S. to India Shared Services
- Ensure detailed process documentation, readiness assessments, knowledge transfer, and stabilization
- Monitor transition progress against defined KPIs, SLAs, and risk management plans
- Collaborate with leadership teams to ensure minimal disruption to business operations
2. Transformation & Digital Enablement
Partner with GPOs and the AI Finance Pod to re-engineer workflows integrating AI agents and automationIdentify AI use cases across reconciliations, financial reporting, and query managementEnsure automation is embedded pre-transition to accelerate post-migration efficiencyLeverage analytics and dashboards for performance tracking and process optimization3. Governance, Controls, and Compliance
Ensure compliance with SOX, GAAP, and internal control frameworks during and after transitionEstablish robust documentation for audit readiness and financial accuracySupport control testing and remediation as processes transition offshore4. People Leadership
Lead a cross-functional team driving process documentation and transition executionPromote collaboration, accountability, and a culture of innovationCoach and mentor team members through transition cycles5. Stakeholder Partnership
Act as a liaison between U.S. finance leadership and India Shared ServicesProvide regular updates to the VP and M&S PMOCollaborate with IT, AI COE, and business stakeholders to prioritize digital enablersKey Deliverables

Required :
1012+ years of progressive experience in finance transformation, shared services, or global business services (GBS)Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fieldProven track record in leading large-scale transitions of finance functions, including offshoring and process migration to strategic locations across geographiesHands-on experience with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday or comparable) and finance automation toolsDemonstrated expertise in AI enablement and automation integration within finance workflowsExperience managing cross-functional teams and driving change in a matrixed global organization, with proven ability to coach, mentor, and inspire teams through transformation cyclesStrong familiarity and understanding of SOX compliance, GAAP standards, and internal control frameworksWilling and able to travel internationally (including to India)Preferred :
MBA or equivalent advanced degree or professional certificationsPrior work in or with global accounting firms or technology companiesFamiliarity with Salesforce, Palantir, AWS, or Microsoft platforms is a plusExposure to automation, AI-driven finance solutions, and digital enablement initiativesDeep knowledge of audit readiness, control testing, and regulatory adherenceCompensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
