We are looking for an experienced Defense Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware. In this role, you will support a small healthcare-focused legal practice consisting of three attorneys. This is a long-term contract position that requires a strong background in civil and insurance defense litigation.
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and manage e-filing processes for legal documents across various court systems.
- Prepare and file court pleadings, motions, and other legal paperwork to ensure timely submissions.
- Maintain and update attorneys' calendars, including scheduling court appearances, meetings, and deadlines.
- Support defense litigation efforts by organizing case files, conducting research, and compiling necessary documentation.
- Assist attorneys with insurance defense litigation tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.
- Handle healthcare-related legal matters, providing administrative assistance and documentation as needed.
- Ensure all court filings and legal procedures adhere to jurisdictional rules and regulations.
- Organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced legal environment to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Proven experience in defense litigation and insurance defense legal support.
- Proficiency in e-filing systems and processes within various court jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and healthcare-related legal matters.
- Exceptional calendar management skills, including scheduling and deadline tracking.
- Familiarity with court filings and legal documentation standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small office setting supporting multiple attorneys.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective interactions.
