About The Position

First-time travelers accepted.

Weekend requirement : Every other weekend.

Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs.

EPIC experience is a hard requirement.

Description :

The position involves providing care to patients in a medical-surgical / telemetry setting.

The nurse will work on a unit with a patient ratio of 6 to 1 at night, with potential for a stretch to 8 or 9.

There are patient care technicians available to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, and activities of daily living.

An in-house phlebotomy team is responsible for all peripheral lab draws.

Nursing staff will manage PICC lines and central lines.

Nurses are expected to have skills in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.

Knowledge of Rapid Response Teams and non-invasive airway management is required.

The patient population includes a variety of diagnoses, such as cancers, sickle cell crisis, sepsis, and organ failure.

Key equipment includes CADD pumps, SCD pumps, wound vacs, and tube feeding pumps.

The nurse will participate in interdisciplinary support with teams that include IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.

Isolation precautions must be practiced diligently.

Nurses will be required to float to similar units as needed.

The facility does not accept local candidates within 75 miles.
