Shipping Specialist
The Shipping Specialist holds a critical role within the logistics and supply chain operations, primarily tasked with the efficient and accurate processing of physical shipments and management of shipping documentation. Central to their responsibilities is ensuring the accuracy of inventory records, both physically within the warehouse and digitally within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Their day-to-day tasks involve preparing shipments, making sure items are packed securely, and labeling packages with the correct information. They coordinate with Creation's Global Logistics and Supply Chain teams to ensure lowest cost and on-time delivery to our customers.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Process outbound shipments in efficient and cost-effective methods
- Expedite and schedule critical shipments with freight carriers based on business and customer needs
- Prepare and / or validate documents for domestic and international shipping (customs, tariffs, invoices)
- Ensure product is packed according to shipping procedures and specifications to meet deadlines
- Use a variety of packaging and handling methods to protect the materials from damage including electrostatic discharge prevention and moisture sensitive parts
- Load and unload trucks, boxes, containers, and carts
- Expedite materials and transactions to support customer requests
- Accurately pick, count, label, and transact parts according to pick lists and ad hoc requests
- Use Excel to understand and edit reports for daily and ad hoc tasks
- Controls, tracks, and requests shipping supplies as needed
- Store and organize parts considering material handling guidance including FIFO, locator organization, weight, etc.
- Maintain inventory organization & cycle count by location, count, and status
- Transact material in ERP system to match physical movement of inventory
- Utilize reel counters and scales to accurately count inventory
- Able to shift from one core task to another, as directed, without difficulty
- Directly involved in interdepartmental activities working with Accounting, Procurement, Planning, Operations, etc., daily and on special projects
- Maintain safety and 5S workplace organization standards
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications : Required
2 years' experience with inventory transactions and queries in ERP system2 years' experience preparing customs documentation2 years' experience using pallet trucks, tools, and equipment to handle and move materialHigh School diploma, GED, or equivalencyExperience with carrier websites i.e., FedEx, UPS, DHLExperience with filing freight claimsBasic knowledge of logisticsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsProficient English business communications skills, both written and verbalAbility to work closely with others and have good communication skillsWorking knowledge in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) to create, edit, and maintain documentsPerform ERP transactions, queries, and reportsMust be very detailed orientedExcellent organization skillsBe flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with a dynamic business environmentProficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlinesSelf-motivated, requires minimal supervisionAble to efficiently work in a high-volume, fast-paced, team environmentAbility to work flexible schedules based on business needPreferred
Strategic thinking when applying logistics knowledgeUse of powered material handling equipment (i.e., forklift)Experience handling electronic componentsIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $18.00-$22.00 per hour (for hourly employees). Full-time employees are also eligible for performance based bonuses and benefits.
