Retail Pharmacist Contract-to-Hire | Los Alamos, NM

13-Week Assignment with Potential for Permanent Placement

We are actively recruiting for a Retail Pharmacist to support day-to-day pharmacy operations at a high-volume community pharmacy in Los Alamos, New Mexico . This is a 13-week temp-to-perm position , ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Role Details :

Contract Length : 13 weeks, with potential for permanent hire

Work Schedule : Day shift, flexible start times (8 : 30 AM or 9 : 30 AM)

Pharmacy Hours : MondayFriday, 8 : 30 AM 6 : 30 PM; Saturday, 9 : 00 AM 2 : 00 PM

(Rotating weekends required)

Pharmacy System : PioneerRx

Key Responsibilities :

Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth daily operations

Deliver professional patient counseling and support medication safety

Perform verification of USP 800 non-sterile compounded prescriptions

(Note : No hands-on compounding required)

Maintain accuracy and efficiency in a high-volume setting (approx. 600 prescriptions daily)

Uphold pharmacy and state regulatory standards

Qualifications :

Active, unrestricted New Mexico Pharmacist License

Previous experience in high-volume retail pharmacy strongly preferred

Familiarity with USP 800 and non-sterile compounding is a plus

Open to recent pharmacy school graduates with appropriate licensure

Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
