Employment Law Associate Attorney

A leading California-based defense firm is seeking an Employment Law Associate Attorney to join its dynamic and collaborative legal team. This is a unique opportunity to work with respected legal minds and handle complex cases in a supportive, high-performance environment.

Who You Are

  • Licensed attorney with an active California Bar membership in good standing
  • 5+ years of experience practicing employment law, including compliance, defense, and litigation
  • JD and undergraduate degrees required
  • Skilled in legal research, negotiation, and written / verbal advocacy
  • Experienced in defending school districts; public entity defense is a plus
  • Background in PAGA or class action work preferred
  • Comfortable leading cases independently and mentoring support staff
  • Able to travel domestically as needed

What You'll Do

  • Defend employers, school districts, and public entities in employment-related matters
  • Manage litigation strategy, deadlines, and client communication across multiple cases
  • Draft pleadings, prepare legal correspondence, and attend court appearances
  • Conduct depositions, cross-examinations, and negotiate settlements
  • Train clients on employment law developments and compliance practices
  • Enter and track billable time and case activity in firm systems
  • Support business development and client relationships through events and outreach

  • Salary Range

    $110,000 – 285,000 annually, based on experience

    Location

    Fully remote, based in Pacific Time. Office space available if desired, with multiple locations across California.
