Summary : You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Information Warfare Training Command, Virginia Beach of INFOWARTRACMD VIRGINIA BEACH VA.

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

Responsibilities :

  • Enforce directives, policies, and guidelines to protect classified information, ensuring compliance with SECNAV M-5510-36 and local command instructions.
  • Provide guidance and resources to onboard personnel for SCI education and adherence to security protocols.
  • Maintain accountability for all classified materials, ensuring proper identification, storage, and transmission.
  • Conduct entry / exit inspections and enforce SCIF Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) daily.
  • Verify clearance eligibility statuses daily for all personnel, utilizing appropriate systems to check notifications from OPM / DODCAF / CNO and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Establish and manage SMO relationships, ensuring personnel are debriefed accordingly.
  • Promptly report all security breaches to the appropriate supervisor and review documentation for transmitting classified material to ensure compliance.

Requirements :

Conditions of Employment :

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following :

  • Analyzing and assisting in implementing security programs, processes, and procedures while supporting the application and development of local plans and instructions.
  • Reviewing requests for personnel or facility security clearances and ensuring all required information is provided and accurate.
  • Utilizing automated security programs, such as Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Communicating effectively verbally and orally to provide excellent customer service, as well as to establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with staff members and supervisors.
  • Education : In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience : Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related. A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
