Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Set up and start all machines, checking all controls for adherence to mixing or packaging procedures.
- Weigh ingredients to meet recipe specifications and insert them into machinery.
- Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.
- Operate machinery to mix, discharge, or handle materials according to operating procedures.
- Examine materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
- Take samples of materials to the lab for evaluation and instructions, if necessary.
- Refer issues / problems to lead / supervisor for disposition.
- Perform all required machine cleaning.
- Ensure data integrity.
- Participate in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and methods.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
- Demonstrate and meet qualifications on blending, packaging, weighing operations, and forklift operation.
- Demonstrate teamwork in all phases of operation.
- Follow all rules, laws, and procedures related to HS&E, ISO, and other regulations.
- Perform other projects / duties as assigned or needed.
Required Skills
Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and to apply these skills to weights, measures of volume, and distance.Manual dexterity for hand tools of various types.Ability to drive a forklift.Problem-solving skills and some mechanical aptitude.Required Education & Experience
US High School diploma, GED equivalency, or equivalent experience.Six (6) months to one (1) year of industrial / manufacturing experience.Physical Demands
Stand 8 to 12 hours per shift.Use hands to finger, handle, and / or feel and reach with hands and arms 8 to 12 hours per shift.Walk 8 to 12 hours per shift.Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear 8 to 12 hours per shift.Occasionally lift and / or move up to 55 lbs.Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and color vision.Work Environment
