Position Summary :
The medical director is involved at all levels of individualized patient care and supervision, and for all persons served by the facility. The medical director serves as the clinician who oversees and guides the care that is provided, a leader to help define a vision of quality improvement, an operations consultant to address day-to-day aspects of organizational function, and a direct supervisor of the medical practitioners who provide direct patient care.
Position Responsibilities
Develops and implements clinical strategies to enhance patient care and service delivery.
Collaborates with the executive team to set organizational goals and align clinical services with the clinic's mission and vision.
Oversees the integration of new healthcare technologies and innovations .
Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Leads quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
Monitors clinical performance and implements corrective actions when necessary.

Supervises the delivery, coordination, and quality of clinical services within White Bird Clinic Programs.
Provides on-site day-to-day clinical supervision of White Bird Associate Medical Directors.
Recruits, trains, and retains a diverse and skilled clinical team.
Provides mentorship and professional development opportunities for medical staff.
Conducts performance evaluations and supports continuous professional growth.
Oversees patient care activities to ensure high-quality, patient-centered services.
Addresses patient concerns and ensures effective resolution of complaints.
Promotes patient education and preventive healthcare practices.
Up to two days of direct patient care to begin after credentialing and privilege have been completed.
Participates in the budgeting process to allocate resources effectively for clinical services.
Monitors clinical expenditures and identifies cost-saving opportunities without compromising care quality.
Seeks and manages grants and funding opportunities to support clinical programs.
Build and maintain relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, and stakeholders.
Represent the clinic in community forums and advocate for public health initiatives.
Collaborates with other organizations to enhance service delivery and community health outcomes.
Promotes and oversees clinical research initiatives to advance medical knowledge and practices.
Ensures ethical standards and compliance with research protocols.
Facilitates the dissemination of research findings to improve clinical practice.
Advises on information system needs and interprets clinical data.
Ensures the effective use of electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies.
Advocates for the Clinic and serves as liaison to local and state professional societies as appropriate.
Reports to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors on clinical operations and quality improvement initiatives.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Medical Doctor (MD / DO) licensed to practice in Oregon with current DEA Controlled Substance Certificate
Medicare and Medicaid provider certification
Minimum of 5 years medical practice experience
Strong commitment and experience in community health / public health
Board-certified or board-eligible in primary care or emergency medicine
Proficient with Microsoft 360 Suite, previous Electronic Health Record experience
Preferred Qualifications :
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Previous experience in an administrative capacity
Proven ability to function as part of an administrative team
Previous experience working with homeless, low / no income adults
6-10 years of medical practice experience
Compensation Details :
This is an exempt position with target base compensation starting at $200-250k per year paid on a bi-weekly basis. This wage range is DOE (Depending on experience).
This position requires successful passage of a State mandated background check.
