Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prepare closing packages, including deeds, settlement statements, affidavits, and other conveyance documents.
  • Review title commitments, surveys, and exception documents while working directly with title companies and surveyors to resolve issues.
  • Track transaction milestones, manage critical dates, and maintain closing checklists.
  • Draft correspondence, memoranda, amendments, and other transactional documents for attorney review.
  • Organize and maintain electronic client files and transaction documentation.
  • Review due diligence materials, including zoning reports, restrictive covenants, management agreements, leases, and related documents.
  • Prepare lease abstracts and loan abstracts.
  • Assist with entity formations and prepare organizational and authorization documents.
  • Prepare and file UCC financing statements, order lien and UCC searches, summarize search results, and coordinate document recordings in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Handle recording and filing of documents with appropriate state and local agencies.
  • Manage post-closing tasks, including preparation of closing binders, closing indices, and tracking outstanding post-closing requirements.
  • Partner closely with attorneys, clients, title companies, lenders, surveyors, and other third parties to ensure transactions progress smoothly.
  • Assist with additional projects and transactional support as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of commercial real estate paralegal experience in a law firm environment.
  • Experience supporting lender, developer, and buyer/seller transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial real estate closings, title and survey review, due diligence, UCC filings, and post-closing procedures.
  • Experience with entity formations and corporate organizational documents is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional client-service approach.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a deal team.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved or accredited program required.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Join a respected regional law firm with a strong commercial real estate practice.
  • Work on sophisticated, high-value transactions with experienced attorneys.
  • Collaborative team environment with opportunities for professional growth.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.
