Carpenter

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Facilities Director, the Carpenter will perform a variety of carpentry projects where accuracy, spacing, fit and structural soundness or appearance is essential. Will perform work on interior and exterior of buildings. Familiar with the aspects of remodeling and renovations of areas.

The carpenter will also work as a maintenance technician performing a variety of functions in the upkeep and repair of building and related equipment. This role will also participate in other related safety checks, audits and inspections as well as assisting in painting, plumbing air conditioning or electrical repairs as necessary.

• Plans and completes projects from initial layout to final assembly or installation.
• Constructs frame work and installs floors, walls and ceiling covering.
• Will repair shelves, counters, storage cabinets, hang doors, install locks and other similar hardware.
• May replace glass and repair tables, chairs and other facility equipment.
• Uses all carpentry hand tools including but not exclusive to : power tools, bench saw, radial arm saw, jointer, drill, sander for molding, nail gun, miter, etc. and follows operating procedures.
• Operates hand tools for the trade following safety protocols. Cleans and maintains work areas; stores and maintains equipment.

Compensation Transparency : In accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act, the reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position $18.98 $28.47 per hour. Actual compensation within this range will depend on the candidate's skills, experience, education, and relevant qualifications. Generally, placement within the upper portion of the range is reserved for candidates with several years of directly related experience or exceptional expertise.
