Responsibilities
The Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for customer satisfaction in all aspects of the job, including increasing throughput, decreasing downtime, performing regular preventive maintenance and upgrades as deemed by Leica Microsystems technical staff. You act as a clear advocate for the customer (internal and external) and a steward for the company.
This position reports to the District Service Manager and is part of the Life Sciences Service Organization. The role covers New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania & Connecticut with a higher concentration of travel in New York City and will be performed remotely where applicable.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to :
The essential requirements of the job include an associates degree in mechanical, electrical, biological science or military equivalent.
1 year of computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Windows-based networking) and familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Minimum 5 years of troubleshooting skills and the ability to use documentation for troubleshooting.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical / Environment Requirements
Local travel is required for this role daily. Ability to travel overnight 4050% of the time.
Territory includes New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania & Connecticut.
A valid passport or equivalent for travel into Europe.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Desired Qualifications
2+ years of prior field service experience in a related field or military equivalent.
Bachelors degree in science or engineering.
Inventory management experience, including cycle counts, updating car stock and returning aging inventory.
Compensation and Benefits
Leica Microsystems offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include health / dental / vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan. The hourly range for this role is $42.00 to $46.00, with eligibility for bonus / incentive pay. This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement where applicable. Exact benefits and eligibility are provided by the interview team and the companys policies.
