The Florida Commission on Offender Review, formerly known as the Florida Parole Commission, is looking to fill the Operations Analyst II - CS position. The Commission on Offender Review performs a vital role in Florida's criminal justice system by preserving the autonomy needed in post-release decisions affecting inmates and ex-offenders. Commissioners preside over weekly meetings at the central office in Tallahassee and various other state locations as required by statute. During these public proceedings, the commissioners make a variety of determinations regarding parole and other releases.

Position description includes : tracking, receiving, and logging all active and upcoming parole interviews state-wide for all parole eligible inmates, parolees, and supervision reviews for all individuals currently under conditional release supervision, assisting the other Operations Analyst II in determining parole eligibility, scheduling parole, parole supervision review, and CRS review cases for dockets, organizing and maintaining physical and electronic files for active parole eligible inmates, active parolees, and those currently on CRS, creating and organizing all weekly parole hearing dockets, compiling lists of visitors for all upcoming cases and routing mail correspondences, processing continuance requests and incoming public records requests as needed, processing all incoming mail and email correspondences and dispersing as needed, reviewing and processing judicial notices for the purpose of notifying the chief judge of the possible release of a parole eligible inmate, answering phones and assisting with questions, serving as inmate family coordinator, assisting family members during weekly parole hearings, and performing other duties as required.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of the criminal justice system, skill in the operation of personal computers, ability to work independently, ability to work under stressful conditions, ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of assignments, ability to communicate effectively, and ability to maintain cooperative working relationships. Preference may be given to applicants that possess a college degree from an accredited college or university. As a part of the interview process, a written work sample may be given at the start / conclusion of the verbal interview. Background screening requirement includes a state and national criminal history check as a condition of employment before beginning employment, and also be screened in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, F.S., and, if applicable, Chapter 408, F.S. No applicant may begin employment until the background investigation results are received, reviewed, and approved by the Commission. Background investigations shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for state and federal criminal records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and may include local criminal history checks through local law enforcement agencies. Also, employees are subject to background re-screening at least every five (5) years.
