Job Description : Principal Architect – Transportation Facilities Opportunity : Parsons is hiring an experienced Principal Architect to work on designs for upcoming transportation projects such as the Inglewood Transit Corridor in Los Angeles , the HART extension in Honolulu , and new transit projects in Seattle . Parsons seeks a candidate eager to enhance community fabric and improve quality of life in the cities we serve. This role involves performing a variety of architectural assignments, applying design standards, practices, and techniques. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Architect proficient in developing creative solutions. This position can be based in either Los Angeles (Pasadena) or Seattle with a hybrid remote work arrangement (2-3 days from home per week). Responsibilities : Conduct architectural studies, develop design concepts, and prepare reports. Review drawings, renderings, layouts, models, and construction documents for compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements. Provide technical consultations and analyses. Write construction specifications and requisitions, interface with suppliers. Review supplier drawings, perform bid analyses. Coordinate with engineering and construction teams, review and approve design and construction drawings. Sign and seal documents as a licensed Architect when required. Guide lower-level Architects and Designers, stay updated on current technologies. Prepare staffing estimates and execution plans. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent; typically 10+ years of related experience. Professional registration (RA) required. Experience with rail transit station design is a plus but not mandatory. Proficiency in architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and software such as Revit. Presentation skills are preferred.
