Local Contract Medical Lab Scientist - $28-40 per hour

LanceSoft is seeking a local contract Medical Lab Scientist for a local contract job in ASHLAND, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Medical Lab Scientist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 11 / 27 / 2025 Duration : 52 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days, evenings, nights, flexible Employment Type : Local Contract Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) – Job Description Job Overview The MLS is responsible for the prompt and accurate performance of laboratory work across various divisions, ensuring quality control, compliance, and patient safety. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized lab tests across divisions. Ensure quality control (QC) standards are met before releasing results. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Train and supervise new lab staff and students. Evaluate testing personnel per CLIA requirements. Participate in on-call rotations as needed. Operate and troubleshoot Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) . Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, and reporting. Document QC activities, calibrations, and maintenance. Identify and resolve issues affecting test performance. Complete annual competency assessments . Support performance improvement initiatives. May serve as section head per CLIA guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned by lab leadership. Qualifications Certification : Must be certified or eligible as MLS (ASCP) , MLT (AMT) , or HHS certified . Must qualify as a general supervisor under CLIA regulations. Certification required within 1 year of hire . Professional Skills Strong communication (verbal and written). Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. Organizational and critical thinking skills. Commitment to professional development and continuing education. Physical & Environmental Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 34 lbs). Exposure to biohazards , chemicals, and stressful situations.
