The Department of Internal Medicine at Atrium Health is seeking an Academic Hospitalist for our medical school affiliated, quaternary care medical center.   Responsibilities include hospital-based patient care, teaching and supervision of Internal medicine residents and students from the Wake Forest School of Medicine, as well as some outpatient precepting in the internal medicine resident continuity clinic.

The Department has 36 core faculty members and 56 residents.  Wake Forest University School of Medicine will open its Charlotte campus in 2025.  The new campus will increase national recognition and prominence of Atrium Health and Wake Forest University School of Medicine in key areas, including Aging and Mobility, Alzheimer's Disease, Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes & Obesity, Pain & Addiction and Regenerative Medicine.

Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center (CMC)  is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health, which is distinguished throughout the Southeastern United States for its excellent patient care and medical expertise. CMC serves as the regions only Level 1 trauma center and is an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas and liver. We also serve as one of North Carolinas 5 Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals, providing residency training for more than 200 physicians in 15 specialties and serve as a regional campus for Wake Forest University School of Medicine, based in Winston-Salem, NC.
