Description :
Under the leadership of the Quality Management Department Director, the Infection Prevention Analyst is responsible for the surveillance, prevention, and control activities necessary to prevent and control infection.
The Infection Prevention Analyst assists in the development and maintenance of an infection control program consistent with the requirements, recommendations, or standards set by various regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities include IP policy and program development, standards interpretation, regulatory analysis, epidemiology, and outbreak analysis and response.
Facilitation of and / or participation in workgroups or committees is required for the success of the infection prevention program.
Collaboration with Employee Health is essential regarding employee infections, immunizations, and prophylaxis after exposure.
Active participation in environmental inspections, continuing education, and in-services is expected.
The role involves collaborating with other staff to promote performance improvement in infection control.
The Infection Prevention Analyst serves as an internal resource for clinical performance improvement activities related to hospital-acquired infection prevention, detection, and control.
Participation in the Anti-microbial Stewardship program with other departments is required.
The Analyst plays an active role during surveys and inspections by regulatory agencies.
Creating, analyzing, and presenting data reports related to infection prevention is an important aspect of this role.
Reports may be submitted externally, including to national databases.
1-3 years of experience in infection prevention or laboratory science and teaching adult learners is preferred.
