Summary

The Supplier Diversity Analyst will work in partnership with the leadership team to execute our vision to achieve an equitable and sustainable supply chain that ensures long-term viability for our small, local and diverse supply base. The Supplier Diversity Analyst must be able to work collaboratively internally and externally with our key stakeholders and have a passion to see small, local and diverse suppliers develop and grow.

As a Supplier Diversity Analyst, you will be responsible for aligning Supplier Diversity’s long and short-term objectives with SRP’s corporate strategy, structure and culture. This will include leading efforts to design small, local and diverse supplier engagement strategies, identifying qualified diverse suppliers and networks, integrating supplier diversity best practices across the business, leading diverse supplier business programs and engaging in cross-business inclusion initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Benchmark industry best practices in Supplier Diversity and supplier sustainability programs and support implementation for optimal supplier management
  • Create, communicate, and execute the diverse supplier development strategy in combination with supply chain and operational partners
  • Assist in driving strategic business goals, plans, programs and projects for supplier diversity initiatives and supplier portfolio
  • Work closely with Procurement and key business partners to identify opportunities and areas for small , local and diverse suppliers to participate in the procurement process and provide specific solutions for supplier management initiatives
  • Be flexible and adaptable to areas of change and evolution for the role.
  • Identify qualified, prospective diverse suppliers to facilitate introductory discussions with sourcing and business owners
  • Review existing diverse supplier portfolio against existing controls and procurement / program requirements
  • Anticipate internal / external business challenges and drive change through supplier and project management
  • Proactively seeks ways to efficiently improve processes and identify gaps that can be better served by supplier diversity
  • Analyze, track, and present monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year reporting metrics to SRP’s executive management, purchasing and business segment personnel.  Develop and distribute AD-HOC reports as required.  Ability to explain progress or any observed variances.
  • Develop, analyze, track and manage the Second-Tier reporting tool
  • Manage and support supplier outreach events at client, community and sponsorship organizations
  • What It Takes To Succeed

  • Experience in Supplier Diversity or as a Procurement / Contract Analyst, Engineer, Community or Government relations marketing, public relations, business or public administration, or other related field.
  • Analytical and quantitative experience required.  Must have working knowledge of purchasing and supply chain management functions (i.e. RFP and Negotiation process, Terms and Conditions, Insurance and Safety Requirements, etc.)
  • Great communication skills, public speaking experience and the ability to work well with others.
  • Certification in the following areas is desirable :
  • C.P.S.D.  Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity

  • C.P.S.M. Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management
  • Ability to think strategically and see the broader perspective, yet stay focused on the details and consider impressions made on behalf of SRP.
  • Employee must possess superior business and project management skills along with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Employee is responsible for understanding corporate spend activity, developing and maintaining professional rapport and relationships for ensuring quality improvements and values of Supplier Diversity to SRP and the community.
  • Assist in the development of diverse businesses directly and through the support of external advocacy organizations.
  • Ability to assess how legislation and activity surrounding supplier preference programs in the public sector may impact SRP and recommend proposed action.
  • Responsible for protection of both internal and external proprietary information.
  • High Visibility of work produced internally with SRP leadership teams and external community partnerships
  • Work requires some irregular hours on weekends and evenings, in and out of state travel for training, presentations, participation in forums, advisory groups, board service, best practices exchanges, and discussion panels.
  • Experience

  • For a Level 1 (Associate), a minimum of no previous years of experience to two years related experience is required (if no degree, four-six years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling four-six years).
  • For a Level 2 (Journey), a minimum of two years of experience to four years related experience is required (if no degree, six-eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling six-eight years).
  • For a Level 3 (Senior), a minimum of five years of related experience is required (if no degree, nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling nine years).
  • Promotion to level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at level 1; demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor.  Promotion to senior level requires a minimum of three years experience at level 2; is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

    Education

    A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

    Hybrid Workplace

    SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
