Remote Senior Full Stack Java Developer

Job Description

A financial client of Insight Global is looking to hire a fully remote Full Stack Developer to join their team. This Developer will support a team that specializes in developing basic applications for their clients, primarily small to medium-sized banks and credit unions. This team is a part of a large software engineer organization where you will work closely with a team of DevOps engineers, DBAs and QAs. This developer must have strong Java backend experience, as the primary work will be completed on the backend. Some front-end experience is also needed so that this developer can be deployed to projects with a front-end component down the road. Additionally, this developer must have experience with API development, and front-end experience with JavaScript. The day-to-day tasks will include participating in daily scrum meetings, developing and managing requirements from start to finish, collaborating with QA for thorough testing, and working with the product owner on various different requirements. These projects typically take 1-3 days for completion, with larger projects taking up to 8 days. This developer will also handle tickets using Jira and develop hybrid applications (both mobile and web). Additionally, you will help convert systems to microservices and microservices APIs, deploy applications using Jenkins pipeline.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized individual with excellent problem solving skills. This is a fully remote position and a 6 month contract-to-hire role that can pay between $46-$67 with medical benefits and 401k options offered on contract. If interested, please apply!

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience utilizing Java for back-end development
• Experience in JavaScript and jQuery for front end development
• Experience with Github and Kubernetes for deployment
• Experience developing APIs in a microservices environment
• Understanding of network protocols
• Experience with hybrid applications
