Overview
Client FIX connectivity support role within the Equities Technology group. The FIX Engineer provides day-to-day FIX connectivity support, onboarding and certification, and system configuration for new connectivity clients, focusing on front / middle office trading systems, order routing, and OMS queries.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to clients, Cantor sales traders and colleagues for FIX connectivity, order routing and Order Management System (OMS) queries.
- Perform production problem investigation using technical and analytical expertise to resolve problems effectively.
- Serve in a client-facing role for FIX connectivity onboarding and certification at the session and application level.
- Configure systems for new connectivity client onboarding and translate client business requirements to configuration parameters.
- Manage issues, changes, bugs, and enhancement requests across a global team to establish and maintain connectivity from external clients to Cantor FIX gateways.
- Communicate effectively with business, development, QA, infrastructure, and production support teams.
- Onboard new clients for Equity, Derivative and Algo businesses; migrate existing connectivity from legacy platform as required.
- Provide 1st line support for all FIX issues and client connectivity related problems.
- Collaborate on projects related to trading platform infrastructure and Algo systems.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 to 10 years of FIX protocol and backend Java development, design and testing experience with prior financial industry experience.Delivery-focused technologist with exposure to trading / sales and cutting-edge technology.Experience developing server-side applications using Java; UNIX, SQL, XML; middleware products like TIBCO, JMS, Solace.Familiarity with SQL and stored procedures in Sybase; solid FIX Engineering or systems analysis experience; Subject Matter Expert (SME) in FIX Protocol.Good understanding of electronic trading and financial markets; experience with FIX client onboarding and certification projects.Knowledge of Third Party Networks and EMS / OMS software vendors (e.g., Fidessa, NYFIX, Bloomberg, SS&C).Strong written and verbal communication; effective analysis and problem-solving; good analytical and project coordination skills; ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines; adaptable to dynamic environments.Ability to interact with external parties, stakeholders, and business groups with varying levels of seniority.Educational Qualifications

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $180,000 to $200,000. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account skills, experience, education, and applicable licenses or certifications. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives.
