You will be responsible for handling your own exciting and challenging caseload of personal injury and wrongful death cases from intake through resolution, with support and cooperative oversight as needed. You will have the opportunity to try cases as first or second chair, dependent upon experience.
In order to provide our clients with the level of representation they require and deserve, you must have at least 3 years of experience as a personal injury litigation attorney, with some pre-trial and trial experience.
Responsibilities include, among others :
- Effectively communicating with clients, coworkers, opposing counsel, experts, co-counsel, referring attorneys, and others on a regular basis
- Working cooperatively with all attorneys and support staff at the firm, and assisting other attorneys as needed
- Managing and handling own case load from intake through resolution, with support and oversight as needed
- Preparing and drafting all pleadings
- Propounding and answering discovery
- Drafting motions, demurrers, and oppositions
- Taking and defending depositions, including expert depositions
- Preparing and representing clients at depositions
- Making in-person, telephonic, and remote court appearances throughout California
- Drafting briefs, settlement conference statements, and attending mediations and settlement conferences
- Locating, retaining, and working with expert witnesses
- Trial preparation (preparing trial documents, drafting pre-trial motions, identifying and preparing exhibits, working with animation companies, overseeing trial subpoenas, witness scheduling, etc.)
- Trying cases as first and / or second chair throughout California
Qualifications and Requirements :
Active CA State Bar license in good standingMinimum 3 years experience practicing personal injury litigation as an attorneyAbility to perform each of the Responsibilities, listed aboveAbility to manage and handle own caseloadAbility to effectively communicate with clients, coworkers, experts, referring attorneys, co-counsel, opposing counsel, and othersDesire and ability to work as a team in a small firm environmentAbility and willingness to travel and try cases in-person throughout CaliforniaResiding in Los Angeles area and ability to work in-person in our El Segundo office (flexible hybrid remote option available)Bilingual Spanish-English preferred but not requiredJob Type : Full-Time Salary
Annual Base Salary : $150,000.00 - $250,000.00, dependent on experience
