Job Summary

The Train Electrician III is an entry-level position responsible for assisting skilled electricians by supplying materials, equipment, and tools at the scene of jobs and learning the practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment of the electricians trade.

Responsibilities

Understands and supports Xanterras mission statement, core values, and cultural pillar. Reads and draws electrical schematics and understands electrical code specifications to determine wiring installations. Layout, design, and implement control equipment and wiring for locomotive and passenger car systems. Layout and design distribution and control equipment such as circuit breaker panel boards, fuse enclosures, switch boxes, pull boxes, and related devices. Understands and identifies equipment needs, parts, and supplies; maintains adequate inventory. Provides clear communication to appropriate parties and prioritizes workload to meet deadlines. Completes precision work and adheres to industry standards for installation, repairs, and safety. Solves problems relating to installation techniques on job sites. Other duties as assigned.
