RT / RTR Level II Technician

POSITION PURPOSE :

The RT / RTR Level II Technician is responsible for executing conventional radiographic testing (RT) and radiographic testing using Real Time Radiography (RTR) inspections in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications. The technician will ensure all inspection activities are conducted safely and efficiently, maintain accurate documentation, and mentor Trainee and Level I technicians in the field.

Note : This position requires availability for overtime, on-call shifts, and travel across project sites in the U.S.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Perform radiographic testing (RT) and Real Time Radiographic (RTR) inspections to evaluate material integrity and pipeline welding compliance.
• Calibrate, operate, and maintain RT / RTR equipment in accordance with procedures.
• Ensure proper setup of work areas including radiation boundaries and safety surveillance.
• Review and complete all documentation in compliance with client, company, and regulatory standards.
• Interpret radiographic images and report findings clearly and accurately.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians and assistants.
• Adhere strictly to radiation safety protocols and promote a safety-first culture.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders regarding inspection results and issues.
• Represent Applus professionally in interactions with clients, auditors, and regulatory representatives.
• Other duties as assigned in alignment with operational needs.
• Applies testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications for both conventional and advanced NDT methods. (API, AMSE)
• Adhering to organizational policies and procedures, including but not limited to Applus Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreements.
• Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
