Must-Have :

• Competent with cardiac medications (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex) and have knowledge of titration and application of these medications.
• Competent in telemetry and possess knowledge of heart rhythms.
• Possess critical thinking skills, able to recognize changes in patient status and intervene.
• Possess knowledge of signs / symptoms of stroke, recognize changes in patient status and intervene.
• Strong communication skills.

Description :

Functioning within the mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on their shift.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria.

Judgments are made based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills.

The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.
