About The Position

Description :

This is an ICU Float Pool position.

The role may require floating to medical / surgical, telemetry, step-down, and overflow units as needed.

First-time travelers are accepted with a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience.

Candidates must possess the required certifications and have experience managing ventilators, IV starts, and other critical care procedures.

Exposure to transplant patients is preferred.

EVD experience and CRRT experience are preferred.

Candidates must be flexible and willing to float within the facility.

RTO (requested time off) must be submitted during the application process.

No time off is permitted within the first two weeks of the contract.

Key responsibilities include monitoring patients with multi-system organ dysfunction / failure and providing continuous care.

Candidates will need to interpret arterial blood gases and manage central lines and arterial lines.

Patient populations include adults and geriatrics, with a maximum of 24 beds in the unit.

Interdisciplinary support is available from various hospital services.

Candidates should have experience with high acuity patients and an understanding of complex medical conditions.

This position requires the ability to work collaboratively within a team to provide optimal patient care.

Attention to infection prevention and adherence to safety protocols is essential.

Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stress in high-pressure situations are necessary for success in this role.
