JOB SUMMARY :

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified in our Endocrine Engagement Center clinic located in Durham, NC. The Medical Assistant, Certified, performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System remote practice that assist medical and / or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic / office runs smoothly.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Perform telephone message taking with patients, document encounter, follow protocols and escalation plans established by clinic leadership
• Manage telephone calls and in basket messages within scope.
• Forms management
• Participates in performance improvement projects.
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as indicated.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :

JOB HOURS :

Hours are from 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm Monday through Friday. No weekends or Duke designated holidays. Once fully oriented, this work can be done as a hybrid model. This means a rotating schedule of working remotely and from the office.
