About The Position

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of prior telemetry experience in a large urban hospital

License : State RN License required

Certifications : BLS required; ACLS, CPI, NIHSS preferred

Must-Have :

• Experience managing cardiac drips
• EPIC charting experience
• Ability to float within scope as needed

Description :

This is a medical surgical and telemetry nursing position on a 20-bed unit.

RNs will care for patients with total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, pulmonary issues, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses.

Staffing ratios are typically 1 : 5 during the day and 1 : 6 at night, with a possibility of 1 : 7 at night based on staffing.

If floating is required, it may involve assignments to various units as determined by facility needs.

Care teams include support from care techs and other clinicians.

RNs will be responsible for patient assessments, vital checks, labs, and managing care with adequate support.

Travelers must be completely nicotine-free, as per facility policy.

Weekend requirements include 4 weekend shifts within an 8-week period.

Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays, with requests for time off considered during application.

All travelers must be more than 100 miles from the facility, and locals are not accepted.

Emergency equipment experience, including handling various IV protocols and managing multiple patient conditions, is essential.

This unit will serve a diverse patient population with various medical needs.
