The EDD Workforce Services Branch (WSB) is seeking candidates to apply for a Staff Services Analyst (SSA) / Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) position in the Grants and Solicitation Unit (GSU) within the Deputy Director's Office (DDO). Working as an analyst, you'll be part of a diverse and passionate team helping our fellow Californians get back to work. You'll utilize your problem solving skills for creative solutions in the workforce system. You'll provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. GSU analysts work directly with DDO management to administer grant solicitations for proposals and both receiving and developing grant applications. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the programs administered by the DDO in the Workforce Services Branch align with the laws and regulations of the funding source and are consistent with the vision, goals, and strategic priorities of the State Plan.
The DDO strives to foster innovative programs that support and expand job creation and a strong thriving economy. The work requires a high degree of tact when dealing with staff, management, partners, and other internal and external stakeholders. There is regular and frequent communication that requires a great level of awareness and sensitivity with stakeholders. As a representative of the DDO, the incumbent may be asked to attend meetings and conferences. The incumbent is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism. The incumbent must exhibit good time management and accurate priority setting to ensure work activities are completed by the deadline.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and to foster active collaboration with our employees and customers while promoting work / life balance for our teams, telework may be an option on a hybrid schedule, but is not guaranteed, and is at the discretion of the supervisor, operational needs, or guiding authorities. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

The position is located at 722 Capitol Mall in the heart of downtown Sacramento within walking distance to light rail, farmer's market during the summer months, the Golden 1 Center, the California State Capitol, historical Old Sacramento and an eclectic collection of retailers, restaurants, food trucks and entertainment venues. Electric bike and scooter rentals are readily available. Currently, the EDD provides a 100% discount to select commuter methods with pick-up / drop-off locations close to the office.

This position is considered “hybrid” with on-site work four days a week at 722 Capitol Mall and telework one day a week, on average, dependent on operational needs.
