Clinical Research Associate
Schedule : Full time; Day shift; 8am-5pm; 40 hours / week
Location : Reno, NV

Summary : This position assists with the drafting, completing and submitting protocol applications as specified by the IRB. This position collects and submits individual protocol participation status data and monitors study compliance.
Minimum / Preferred Requirements :
Education : Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. High School Graduate or equivalent preferred. College classes preferred.
Experience : Previous experience with research protocol preferred.
License(s) : None
Certification(s) : Current AHA BLS / CPR For 830340 only : IATA / DOT Dangerous Goods certification required within 90 days of employment and phlebotomy certification within 1 year
Computer / Typing : Proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheet and data base applications required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Job Responsibilities / Duties : This position is challenged to maintain research protocols with an extremely high degree of accuracy. While the incumbent must be highly organized and tolerant of isolation, this person must also have good interpersonal skills to communicate with physicians and physician staff. This position prepares, submits and monitors documentation of research programs while assuring compliance with regulations and protocols. Performs assigned clerical and technical duties as directed. Back office duties, including but not limited to : escorting the patients form the waiting room to the exam room promptly; taking vital signs as per guidelines; preparing lab specimens for processing. Completes other work as required. The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to interact with the adult and geriatric population served and meet standards of quality as measured by the unit / department age specific competency standards. This position does provide patient care.
