Pay Information $2,168 per week About The Position Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Neuro Acute Epilepsy Monitoring Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : Level 1 Trauma Experience Description : MUST HAVE LEVEL 1 TRAUMA EXPERIENCE. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius. Client Pre-Screens will be conducted. If clinical recommends, candidates will be sent to manager for approval. No second interviews are required. Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance. Travel teams must have their own vehicles. Candidates must have natural hair color and no facial piercings. Men must be clean-shaven for fit tests. There is a pass / fail exam on day one of orientation. All RNs will be expected to complete a skills lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Nurses must maintain a sterile field, as this is crucial. Candidates lacking competency in these areas may not be a good fit. Additionally, nurses will undergo educational training for lifts, restraints, and wound care. The unit has a total of 48 beds with 10 specialty rooms for epilepsy. Certifications required include BLS and ACLS; a BSN is preferred. Candidates should have experience in Med-Surg / Telemetry. Patient ratios are 1 : 4 for both days and nights. Charge nurses have no patient assignments but serve in a resource role. Nurse aides are available to assist as needed. Weekend requirements are three shifts within a four-week period with self-scheduling. Holidays will be integrated into the holiday rotation. Scrub colors include designated styles. The unit is primarily MedSurg with some telemetry patients. Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy services are available 24 / 7. Shifts are from 7 AM to 7 PM, totaling 12 hours. Floating to Med-Surg / Tele units may occur. Floor-specific orientation consists of two shifts on the floor. Common diagnoses include epilepsy, brain tumors, subdural hematomas, and traumatic brain injuries. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking and assessment skills to detect small changes in patients. Self-releasing velcro seat belts will be utilized instead of restraints.
