As part of your role within the Addons.mozilla.org (AMO) team, you'll contribute to the foundation of the Firefox add-ons ecosystem. This platform allows developers to publish extensions and helps users customize their Firefox experience. Your expertise will help ensure AMO remains secure and trustworthy for everyone.
Your Role :
- Strengthen frontend and full stack development, leveraging React / TypeScript for frontends, Django for backend functionalities, and MySQL for data management.
- Ensure platform reliability through effective deployment, monitoring, and incident response practices on Google Cloud.
- Innovate feature development for submission flows and enhancing trust and safety signals.
- Collaborate openly with a diverse set of contributors, sharing knowledge and learning together.
Your Responsibilities :
Design and develop frontend experiences in AMO and DevHub, prioritizing speed, accessibility, and user experience.Lead the modernization and enhancement of platform architecture for better maintainability.Maintain platform safety by focusing on security measures and fostering user trust.Tackle various issues impacting users and developers, both large and small.Work closely with cross-functional teams including designers and product managers to drive end-to-end project completions.Engage in open-source contributions through collaborative pull requests and code reviews.Your Qualifications :
A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in modern web application development.Proficiency in React, JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, complete with strong debugging and testing skills.Familiarity with Python / Django or comparable backend frameworks.Understanding of web security principles and practices.Knowledge of accessibility, responsive design, and API integrations.Excellent collaboration and communication abilities in a distributed team setting.An appreciation for contributions from both professional staff and the open-source community.A commitment to Mozilla's core values, including embracing diversity, fostering community, and responsible engagement.Bonus Skills :
Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, particularly Google Cloud.Track record of contributions to open-source projects.Experience with other front-end stacks like Jinja2.Mentorship or support experience with junior developers.What We Offer :
