Job descriptionExperience with welding and carbon arc equipment Experience in a manufacturing environment Strong attention to detail and process Marks casting with welder symbol for traceability. Repairs fully all defects marked by the Line Inspector using gouging, welding, burning, and carbon arc washing. Removes excess material on the steel castings through precision burning and carbon arc washing. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; extreme cold and extreme heat The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; outdoor weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Harrison Steel is a family owned company that engineers and manufactures castings of 350 to 12,500 pounds, net casting weight, for businesses in industries such as agriculture, mining, and oil and gas. Casting Repair Welders :
- Excavates out inclusions using a carbon arc
- Welds using flux core wire to blend weld metal into the cast steel
- Shapes critical casting features using a carbon arc and hand grinder
