About the role

As the Global Head of Business Recruiting, you will lead the global team of over 50 recruiters and own hiring for all non‑tech functions across Rippling globally. The current team has a footprint in the US, Bangalore, Dublin, and Sydney, and drives over 2 500 hires annually.

What you will do

  • Run the machine : Operational excellence in a high‑volume environment. This team makes over 2 500 hires annually, and hiring demand increases frequently.
  • Manage stakeholders : Our internal clients are highly engaged and thirsty for close partnership, and leadership on the topic of best‑practice hiring practices.
  • Data, reporting, analytics : Drive insights and influence change through the use of data and analytics. Identify problems proactively, sooner, and solve them, through data. Provide transparency on results and be a predictable, reliable function.
  • Escalation handling : Have thick skin when escalations happen. Handle escalations quickly, directly, transparently, and thoroughly.
  • Global : Balance the competing agendas of the need to drive consistency and scale, globally, with the need for a localized approach and strategy.
  • Manage people : Manage across several levels, including managers. Performance manage the team within our existing, metrics‑based environment.
  • Build : Hire and retain amazing recruiters across the globe.
  • Process improvement : Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for scale, or ways we can be better at our jobs. Create solutions for these opportunities, and drive them to completion.
  • Engage : Look for ways to keep the team engaged and cohesive.
  • TA Leadership : Be a core and critical part of the TA leadership team, and in this capacity, help steer the overall strategy and direction of the function.

What you will need

  • Scale : Experience running a similar hiring machine, with similar volume.
  • Global : Experience leading global teams. Depth in India, and EMEA hiring would be ideal.
  • Foresight : You will be asked to create quotas, forecast team performance, and devise solutions before issues grow to become problems.
  • Management : Experience managing managers, and teams of over 50 recruiters.
  • Performance management : Experience leading with data and metrics, in an attainment–based environment.
  • Hands on approach : This person will need to stay close to the action and be very hands on. We take our leadership principle of “Go and See” to heart, and seek out things directly, rather than delegate, and take others' word for it.
  • Process improvement : A track record of identifying opportunities to improve, and delivering those improvements.
  • Data and analytics : A slight obsession with use of data and analytics, and a history of being very hands on here.
  • Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a fast paced, fluid, high pressure environment. High tolerance for change.
  • Ability to take feedback : Thick skin relative to others poking in your work because we “challenge each other directly (Rippling Leadership Principle).
