SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Controller with all aspects of the accounting function. This role requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can assist with a variety of accounting tasks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Perform account reconciliations and prepare journal entries
  • assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns in multiple jurisdictions
  • Support the renewal of business and contractor licenses
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure financial records comply with GAAP
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Help implement and improve accounting processes and controls
  • Back-up Payroll Specialist
  • Special projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration / Accounting / Finance
  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle fast paced, time-sensitive and confidential tasks while maintaining professionalism
  • Ability to pass work history verification
  • Ability to pass and maintain pre- employment and random drug screenings
  • Schedule - Full-Time (in-office)
