Lifeguard

The Lifeguard works under direct supervision of the Aquatics Manager and is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Aquatics unit, which include customer service, patron safety, pool maintenance, emergency procedures / evacuations, and daily safety checks of the swimming pools, and surrounding areas. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Please note : The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma, possession of an American Red Cross Advanced Life Saving Certificate, possession of a Water Safety Instructor's Certificate, and possession of a current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Certificate; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding / First Aid / CPR / AED Certificate (active or obtained by start date)
