As a Grade 2 Licensed Stationary Engineer, responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment such as boilers, , pumps, gas compressors, generators, motors, air conditioning systems, heat exchangers, refrigeration equipment. Performs work with attention to safety of work environment and others applying lock out / tag out procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains a variety of mechanical equipment in good working order to prevent breakdown. Reads meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions. Records data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, analysis of flue gases, voltage load and generator balance. Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing, gaskets, valves, recorders, and gauges, plumbing, blow-down and washing of boilers, and cleaning or replacing burners, pumps, pipes, screens, strainers, or other components. Oils and lubricates equipment.

Adjusts manual controls or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch to backup equipment or systems, or to shut down equipment. Records operation and maintenance actions taken during shift in operator's logbook.
