If the traveler calls in for a scheduled weekend shift, we will need to have them make up the weekend shifts based on the needs of the unit. Frequent floating may be required.PATIENT DIAGNOSES : We care primarily for Stroke patients, but also care for possible Neurosurgery patients as well as other Neuro diagnoses, such as Epilepsy, Traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and many moreSPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS : We have a 4 BED Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). Pre-Approved Time Off : - Orientation Hours : 36 Facility & Patient Care Details Patient Age Groups : Adults, Geriatrics Daily Census : 50 Number of Visits Per Day : 6 Number of Rooms : 55 Number of Beds : 55 Additional Unit Information Interdisciplinary Support : IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary Patient Diagnoses : Primary neuroscience unit. Care for any neuroscience diagnosis. Strokes are the primary patient population seizures, subdural hematomas, SAH, ICH, brain tumors.
• Manager will not accept less than 1 year of past Med Surg experience due to ratios on unit
• Special Procedures / Unit Details : We have a 4 BED Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) that is considered Intermediate level and that nurse has 4 : 1 patient ratio.
• Hard stop-Manager will not accept less than 1 year of past Med Surg experience- must be MS and not MS / tele in work history (I know it's a Ms / tele but must have specific MS in work history, per manager due to ratios on unit
• Must have total of 2 yrs hard stop- combo of 1 yr MS and 1 yr MS / tele, tele or PCU Special Equipment : Neurosurgical patients, seizures, subdural hematomas, SAH, ICH, brain tumors, etc.
• Med Surg Experience Required
• We did increase our beds to 60, we added additional 12 med surge beds and a 5 bed transfer center. Please update our beds to state 55 since the transfer center is ran a little different Our census runs around 50
• #Tier2 Crisis Response Compliance Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours after signing. All testing must be completed within 48 hours. Submission Process : All units are utilizing Clinical for direct profile review Submission Details : Any previous PERM / PRN / EP staff employee of Novant Health or New Hanover must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler. Please note in the submission packet if your candidate previously worked here, the hospital name and dates of employment. Facility rehire approval is needed. We cannot proceed with any offer until rehire approval is obtained. Failure to disclose this information will negatively impact your candidate and may result in a cancel. Novant runs their own check on each traveler upon hiring, so we need to notify them beforehand. Current travel Per Diem clinicians at Novant Health or New Hanover are ineligible for travel assignments. Working both simultaneously is not accepted. Clinicians must select either travel Per Diem or a Travel Contract. Please indicate in the submission packet if your candidate is currently in a travel Per Diem role at this Health system and if they wish to transition to a Travel Contract.
