We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC and Huntsville, AL with an additional 36+ locations across the U.S.Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide full life cycle technical support for all types of combatant craft, boats, watercraft, amphibious vessels / vehicles, Patrol Coastal Class ships, specialty craft / vessels, life rafts, inflatable craft, unmanned vessels / vehicles, and associated craft and mission systems to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division's Combatant Craft Division.JOB DETAILSLOCATION : Virginia Beach, VAJOB STATUS : FTTRAVEL : 0%JOB SUMMARYThe Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design, development, testing, and oversight of electrical and electronic systems, with a focus on shipboard and marine applications. This role involves managing complex engineering projects across a range of specialties, including power generation, transmission, distribution, and communications. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also be responsible for developing new products, writing performance specifications, creating maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards. Additional responsibilities include equipment testing, diagnosing operational issues, and providing accurate time and cost estimates for engineering initiatives.
