American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Chicago, Illinois.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active IL license and floating flexibility for a Level 1 Trauma Center assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the ICU department with coverage across various ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
  • Required to float between ICU specialties and may float to MS units as needed
  • Work schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 pm – 7 : 30 am) with every other weekend required
  • No block scheduling or special requests allowed
  • EMR system used is Cerner
  • Orientation and preceptorship shifts are on day shift during the first week
  • Must be comfortable with strict floating policies, including floating to units outside primary specialty within a 50-mile radius if needed
  • Team-based care model utilized if floated outside of main competency area
  • Compliance with lab work and documentation deadlines is strictly enforced
  • Scrub color is navy blue and is not provided
  • COVID-19 vaccination required; booster not required
  • No RTO allowed on weekends, holidays, or the days before / after holidays, with a maximum of 5 days RTO and no more than 2 consecutive days
  • Holiday coverage is required

    • Requirements

  • Active and current IL RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent acute care ICU experience required
  • Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Must reside within a 75-mile radius to be considered local; locals accepted
  • Proof of all required vaccinations must be provided one week prior to start
  • Pending IL licenses will not be considered
