Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Piping Designer to join our team. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform work on design and 3D layout of moderate to complex advanced scope and may serve as Design Area Lead.
In this role, you will work closely with other team members to develop and check complex piping drawings, including plot plans, piping plans, isometrics, and sketches. You will also contribute to the piping input to Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), updates to the master P&ID, and the piping line list. Your expertise will ensure the quality and accuracy of our piping design team's work and provide crucial assistance to construction and pipe fabrication personnel.
Key Responsibilities :
- Deliver quality work and adhere to the Quality System.
- Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans.
- Collaborate closely with other discipline functions to ensure seamless project execution.
- Perform 3D piping layout and equipment modeling of moderate to advanced complexity.
- Produce and check complex piping drawings, including plot plans, piping plans, isometrics, and sketches.
- Review vendor drawings and provide comments.
- Mark up P&IDs
- Engage Fluor's global community, promoting a OneFluor mindset.
- Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.
- Participate in people development through mentoring of less experienced Designers, including performance appraisal input and counseling.
- Contribute to and promote the use of Fluor's knowledge management portals and communities.
- Support Functional Process Lead and Department Manager on initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
- Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed.
- Adhere to and support Fluor's HSE Policies.
- Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job.
- May need to travel to attend to business-related matters.
- Provide assistance to construction and pipe fabrication personnel.
- Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or; A combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) yearssome locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirementsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitorsJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state / province, and federal / national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerKnowledge of commercial availability and cost of materialsPractical field experienceIntermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail,spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of :
2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D CAD systems and procedures.NWS, ACCProficiency in 3D modeling software (Hexagon Smart 3D®, AutoCAD P3D, CADWorx etc.)Fluor design guides, piping technical practices, and piping design drawings.Piping design requirements (equipment arrangement, piping layout, stress requirements, and material requirements).Ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), update master P&ID, and piping line list.Experience in Pharmaceutical, Data Center, Semiconductor industry.Notice to Candidates :
