Are you passionate about helping future physicians achieve their professional goals? Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a full-time Career Advisor to guide osteopathic medical students from matriculation to successful placement in graduate medical education programs!
As a strategic partner to the Director of Career Advising, you will foster student growth, resilience, and career readiness through individualized advising, cohort programming, and systematic preparation for residency applications and the Match process.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and enhance career advising services for students, including support for away rotations and graduate medical education applications.
- Develop structured programming for cohorts, small groups, and individual counseling sessions.
- Collaborate with the Academic Success Department to deliver integrated support services.
- Establish measurable outcomes and assessment protocols for continuous improvement.
- Provide expert guidance throughout the residency application process, including ERAS & ResidencyCAS, personal statement development, and interview preparation.
- Coordinate workshops, mock interviews, and networking opportunities.
- Build relationships with residency program directors and medical education stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with COCA accreditation standards and participate in accreditation processes.
- Foster growth mindset and resilience in students through strength-based advising.
- Represent the College at conferences and contribute to recruitment and retention efforts.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in English, Higher Education Administration, or related field.Minimum of 2 years' career advising experience in higher education (medical education background preferred).Experience with graduate / professional program applications and residency match processes.Proven track record in program development, implementation, and assessment.Knowledge of career development theories, medical education pathways, and residency application processes.Proficiency with ERAS, ResidencyCAS, NRMP, and Microsoft Office.Advanced data analysis and reporting skills.Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain confidentiality.Commitment to fostering growth mindset, resilience, and evidence-based practice.Salary & Benefits :
