CentraState Medical Center is currently seeking a PACS Administrator to join its Radiology Department. This key position oversees the daily operations of PACS equipment, ensuring seamless image workflow, reliable archiving, and efficient auto-routing and prefetching. The PACS Administrator works closely with the Operations Manager and Information Services to support timely and accurate capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS system, while also managing network transmission, validating RIS inputs, and resolving exceptions. Beyond technical expertise, this role serves as a strategic liaison for digital imaging initiatives, fostering collaboration between Radiology and other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Leads and other departments to ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image into the PACS system as well as network transmission, RIS validation and exceptions handling.
  • Investigates, identifies and prepares proposals to solve specific operational problems with all clinical operational areas.
  • Responsible for budget preparation and monitoring of the operating budget.
  • Works in cooperation with the Radiology Director to identify present and future needs for equipment installation.
  • Works closely with Director of Radiology and the Director of IS in the development of operating standards, policies & procedures.
  • Reviews feedback from customers and complies and analyzes support data, and recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate.
  • Works closely with Radiology's Quality Management to identify and design future needs and efficient workflow processes.
  • Oversees activities of vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new systems.
  • Knowledge of retrieving images from the PACS system and printing to film and / or burning to a CD.
  • Ability to accurately digitize film and enter the appropriate information in PACS.
  • Ability to navigate through a CD and answer any questions referring to such.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of Radiology experience.
  • Understanding of Radiology workflow and the HIS / RIS systems.
  • Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.

  • Compensation Range : $89,700 - $152,490 annually

    The compensation above reflects the established range from CentraState Healthcare System (CSHS) for this position at the time the job was posted. CSHS considers many factors to determine compensation, including education, experience, skills, licenses, certification, and training.  As such, team member compensation may fall outside this range.

    Additionally, the compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.

    The benefits outlined also reflect CSHS’ policy at the time of posting.  Benefits as are made available to other similarly situated team members of CSHS, although participation is at all times in accordance with and subject to the eligibility and other provisions of such plans and programs.
