Job description

Were seeking a Traffic Engineer- Project Manager with a minimum of 12 years of experience in transportation engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management to join our growing traffic team in New York City. Were a close-knit team of about 50 professionals, known for our collaborative spirit and strong relationshipsboth internally and with our clients. Your Opportunity

As a key member of our team, youll lead and support a variety of transportation projects that make a real impact :

  • Lead transportation planning studies, traffic impact analyses, and safety assessments
  • Contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments and Planning and Environmental Linkages studies
  • Design and oversee traffic data collection and analysis
  • Collaborate with roadway and structural engineers on iterative design processes
  • Ensure quality and consistency through QA / QC reviews
  • Manage project budgets and client communications
  • Present technical concepts at public meetings and support stakeholder engagement
  • Coordinate modeling efforts and integrate results into planning recommendations
  • Prepare technical reports, memoranda, and presentations
  • Support business development through proposal writing and interviews

About You

Youre passionate about creating safe, efficient, and equitable transportation systems. You bring :

  • A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • PE license (preferably in NY, NJ, or CT)
  • PTOE and / or RSP certifications are a plus
  • Strong understanding of transportation planning and traffic engineering principles
  • Familiarity with NEPA guidelines and regional standards (NY, NJ, CT)
  • Proficiency in Synchro, HCS, and standard business software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with VISSIM, ArcGIS, or Adobe Illustrator is a bonus
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for diverse audiences
  • Proven leadership and ability to manage interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
