Job Title: Concrete Finisher
Job Description
This role focuses on concrete finishing and labor work on commercial construction projects. You will help form and pour footings, walls, and flatwork for new commercial buildings while working with reinforcing materials such as rebar and post-tensioning systems. The position requires hands-on work outdoors in varying weather conditions and close collaboration with a small, dedicated concrete crew.
Responsibilities

Form and pour concrete footings, walls, and flat concrete slabs for new commercial construction projects.

Set up, align, and secure concrete forms and systems to ensure proper dimensions and structural integrity.

Place, spread, level, and finish concrete surfaces to meet quality, safety, and project specifications.

Work with rebar and post-tensioning systems to reinforce concrete structures according to plans and standards.

Assist with preparing job sites, including measuring, layout, and organizing materials and tools.

Operate and handle concrete tools and equipment safely and efficiently as required for each project.

Monitor concrete curing and finishing conditions and make adjustments to achieve the desired finish and durability.

Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety rules.

Collaborate with crew members and site supervisors to complete tasks on schedule and support overall project goals.

Travel to various job sites, sometimes up to 1.5 hours away, and arrive reliably and on time for scheduled shifts.
Essential Skills

At least 1 year of concrete experience on commercial or residential properties, validated by references.

Hands-on experience forming and pouring concrete for footings, walls, and flatwork.

Ability to work with rebar and post-tensioning systems for reinforcing concrete.

Knowledge of commercial construction practices related to concrete work.

Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Willingness and ability to travel up to 1.5 hours for projects.

Capability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and temperatures.

Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Consistent adherence to safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
Work Environment
This is an outdoor, field-based role on active commercial construction sites. You will work in all weather conditions and temperatures, including heat, cold, and varying elements. The concrete crew is relatively small, typically around 5 to 8 team members, providing a collaborative and hands-on environment. Work hours generally range from approximately 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., depending on project requirements, with an effort to keep the schedule Monday through Friday. You will use standard concrete tools and equipment provided on site. The dress code emphasizes safety: you must wear leather boots above the ankle, safety glasses, a hard hat, and high-visibility apparel as part of the required PPE.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
