Scope of Work Works independently performing investigative research in areas related to patient care or biomedicine. Assists principal investigator in the development of new treatment methodologies and prepares material for publications or use in adjusting lab procedures. Leads experiments, acting as a technical expert for employees on clinical or laboratory matters. May assist in preparing grant applications. Coordinates the planning and procedures for research with professional cohorts. Conducts and interprets complex research procedures; analyzes and interprets data. Participates with research support employees, post-doctoral fellows, and medical staff/residents in organizing and interpreting data for their research projects. Devises and implements new methods/techniques for lab. Incorporates procedures and/or new equipment into lab routine and trains employees on same. May coordinate material purchasing for lab. Recommends/orders lab equipment. Conducts sophisticated review of scientific literature to ensure lab remains state-of-the-art. May initiate/write manuscripts for publication and scientific presentations.
