Position Information :

Boone County Family Resources is seeking a qualified candidate for the Life & Work Support Professional position in our Life and Work Connections Department. The formal job title of the person filling this role would be "Community Skills Specialist".

The person in this position would focus primarily on supporting high school-aged youth, so working evenings after school hours is essential. In this position, you may help individuals learn about preparing meals, riding the city bus, paying bills, building work skills or finding a job, and setting goals for the future - based on each individual's needs and preferences. You may work one one-on-one with individuals; in the natural home; in community settings including workplaces; and with groups in community or classroom settings. Minimum Qualifications :

• A bachelor's degree and experience working directly with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree with a high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Ability to obtain a Class E Chauffeurs license
• Access to a licensed and insured vehicle
• Demonstrate responsibility and maturity with excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to pass applicable background checks and a pre-employment drug screening

Job Type : Full-Time

Salary : Starting at $18 / hour . Eligible for merit-based raises at 6 months, 1 year, and annually thereafter.
