Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Hermitage, TN 37076 (Nashville area healthcare jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 1 / 12 / 2026 – End : 4 / 13 / 2026)

Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 34 beds (unit 630), 25 beds (unit 633)

Scheduling : Self-scheduling; every other weekend required

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1530 - $1640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Tennessee or compact state)

BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or step-down nursing experience

Proficient in EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac drips, insulin and heparin drips

Peripheral IV skills

Experience with bipaps, high flow oxygen, multiple oxygen delivery systems, and post-cardiac cath care

Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred

Familiarity with Meditech electronic documentation system is a plus

Ability to float between PCU units and med-surg floors as needed

Black scrubs required

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to PCU patients (1 : 5–1 : 6 nurse-to-patient ratio at night)

Administer and monitor cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips

Assist with procedures : peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, NG / Dobhoff tube insertions

Conduct hourly rounding during the day and every 2-hour rounding at night

Utilize AIDET communication and maintain patient communication boards

Collaborate with healthcare techs and unit secretaries for comprehensive patient care

Troubleshoot wound vacs and perform central line dressing changes

Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech

Contribute to a culture of teamwork and support within the PCU nursing unit
