Sierra Instruments has been delivering market-leading gas flow measurement products for more than 45 years. As a part of TASi Gas Flow, Sierra Instruments designs and manufactures high-performance thermal mass flow controllers for nearly every gas, liquid, or steam application. We provide critical instrumentation for the gas flow control systems for all industries where accurate gas flow measurement is mission critical.
Key Responsibilities :
- Interprets customer quality requirements and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with the customer's expectations.
- Participates in design reviews to identify inspect ability and producibility issues and opportunities early in the product life cycle.
- Reviews drawings and uses inspection tools such as calipers, pin gauges, etc., to verify product conformance.
- Develop and maintain part inspection plans for new parts including writing instructions and training personnel. Performs Measurement System Analysis to ensure adequate inspection capabilities.
- Advise quality inspectors on day-to-day activities.
- Participate or leads cause and corrective action activities, failure investigations, metrics creation and quality improvement projects.
- Leads Material Review Board (MRB) and provides technical justification when a non-conformance to mutually agreed specifications is determined.
- Performs quality audits to help maintain company’s ISO 9001 : 2015 certification.
- Performs environmental audits to help maintain company’s ISO 14001 certification.
- Leads Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) efforts to reduce risk and develop appropriate control plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of being able to influence change.
- Computer skills are sufficient to analyze data and generate reports using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word software.
- Understanding and effective use of statistics and quality tools.
- Work proactively with the manufacturing team to drive productivity, reduce cycle time and improve quality and first pass yields using lean manufacturing techniques.
- Work with Key Customers as primary Quality Interface for customer quality initiatives (8D, RCA, etc.)
- Maintain internal and external audit system to ensure the effective continuous improvement of the ISO 9001 : 2015 quality systems.
- Manage necessary revisions to Sierra’s ISO9001 : 2015 Quality Management System with Key Department Process Owners.
- Assist in running and maintaining the MRB Process, as directed by the Sr. Quality Manager.
- Participate in investigations of quality complaints and non-conformances, and work with department managers and engineers to ensure root causes are identified and solved.
- Assist the Sr. Quality Manager with the development and maintenance of a supplier quality program and the KPIs tied to same.
- Assist the Sr. Quality Manager with the development and use of statistical analysis tools within the operations unit to ensure improved part integrity and reliability.
- Work with cross functional teams to improve tooling, equipment and methods used to validate products and process quality.
- Assist the Sr. Quality Manager with the development of a prioritized annual tooling and software budget for the Quality organization.
- Participate in Quality Team meetings, creation of permanent solutions for non-conformances, and work with problem solving teams using 8D and DMAIC as appropriate.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to plan, formulate and agree upon comprehensive quality procedures and test methods.
- Monitor quality system performance through gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports suitable for review at the executive level under the direction of the Sr. Quality Manager.
- Collect and analyze performance data and charts against defined parameters.
- Manage calibration system.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements :
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline and at least 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combinationASQ Quality Engineer certification desirable.5-7 years of work experience within a Quality organization.Experience in maintaining and supporting vendor-managed Quality programs.Experience with the maintenance and administration of ISO 9001 and ISO 140001 systems.Understanding and ability to guide teams creating FMEAs, OCAPs, and Process Management PlansDeep understanding of proper measurement, calibration, correlation, and Gauge Repeatability and Reliability practices.Certification with ASQ CMQ / OE preferred.Familiarity with GD&T.Proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD / PDM, and ERP software packages (Epicor, SAP, SolidWorks, PDMWorks)Preferred Qualifications :
