Description
The Medical Assistant | Radiologic Technologist role provides professional patient care under physician supervision. A Medical Assistant | Radiologic technologist is responsible for performing quality diagnostic imaging in an orthopedic setting. The position delivers a high care volume by ensuring patients are prepared before seeing the physician and accurate documentation is completed. This position is for Urgent Care at our Southpoint Office. Travel to other locations may be required as needed. Hours : Monday - Friday 11 : 30am - 7 : 30pm
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic technologist training program
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration
- Licensure and / or certification as required by the State of North Carolina
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform procedures including body mechanics and patient movement
- Knowledge of safety hazards and contraindications for patients and all visitors within the facility
- Current CPR Certification
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent documentation skills
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
Obtain and document patient medical history including reason for visit, and any other pertinent information related to treatment prior to physician examPerform all diagnostic x-rays as indicated by physician and APPPrepares medical record information, including x-ray films for physician review prior to physician examMaintains compliance with infection control policies and proceduresPerforms patient education when appropriate including oral and written education related to diagnosis, procedures, and / or medicationsReplenishes supplies-cleans exam room after each patient per infection control guidelines and stocks exam room at end of each dayCommunicates supply shortages as well as other clinical needs to Clinical Manager or designeeEnsures that laboratory and other diagnostic test results are obtained and communicated to physician to ensure appropriate and timely physician intervention. All pending results are obtained prior to the patient's next clinic visitEnsures all documentation and charges associated with studies accurately reflect the patient encounter and plan of carePerforms other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned
